I´ve been in the squad a couple of times recently, so barring injuries I´m hoping to get a look in every now and again. My red card came at a bad time as I was trying to stake a claim for a place in the squad at the start of the year. I had a chat with Nigel Pearson when I came back after my suspension, and he said, "Knuckle down and you´ll get there." Nigel´s a very thorough and professional manager. He really picks up on the detail. The boys have reacted really well to his approach. Leicester are now reaping the rewards of hard work. The club´s kept the nucleus of the squad from last season and added a few new faces who´ve come in and done really well. There´s a good feeling around the place and we´re playing some great stuff. My fellow striker Matty Fryatt can´t stop scoring goals. It´s funny because last year I´d say Matty was getting better chances and not scoring. But he gained confidence in pre-season and was riding high and he brought that into the season proper. He´s been on fire. Because he works so hard as well he´s always going to get chances. Unfortunately, Cheltenham, where I was on loan earlier in the season can´t seem to pick up points. They haven´t done badly scoring goals but they´ve leaked them at the other end. They´ve lost a couple of games 3-2. If you score two goals you´d hope to get at least a point. The team I always supported, Spurs, are not doing so well either. But I think they´ll be fine. It´s not a foregone conclusion but they´ve got enough quality in the squad to stay up. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
